A model for SUV4-20 inhibition Upon SUV4-20 inhibition, K20me2 is demethylated to K20me1 if the molecule is not acetylated (or lightly acetylated). Meanwhile, SUV4-20 inhibition may also activate HAT activity through unknown mechanisms. This increases proteoforms containing K20me2 and multiple acetylations. The presence of multiple acetylations protects K20me2 from being demethylated
