Asx is required for hsp70 repression during heat-shock induction and recovery. a The relative mRNA levels in wild-type and Asx ³ homozygous null mutant embryos were measured by RT-qPCR. Asx null mutations are embryonic lethal at a late embryonic stage [4], so homozygous 12–15-h Asx ³ mutants were collected using absence of expression of the GFP-marked balancer chromosome as a criterion.
