CenH3 is located in distinct foci in the nucleus. Strain Zt121-85 was grown on YMS medium for 24 h at 18 °C; images from a representative spore are shown. CenH3 is localized inside the nucleus and organized in several spots (between 4 and 7 foci can be distinguished by epifluorescence microscopy); there were no spores with single chromocenters.
